In a place full of history, transformed over time, built initially as a castle for the Suardo Counts in 1100, for years it then served as the ticket office and the stopover of the first steam tram that connected the city of Bergamo with Sarnico.

This is where the name "Hosteria del Vapore – Hosteria of Steam" comes from, a place that is still influenced by its past and its traditions, which are reflected in the stone walls of the restaurant room but above all in good typical cuisine.


Guests of the Hosteria can savour the taste of traditional Bergamo cuisine, according to the recipes of the past, prepared today by Stefano Berzi, chef and sommelier, who carries on the family passion.

The Berzi family has been involved in the hospitality business for five generations, since 1860 when Stefano’s great great grandfather decided to give life to this activity. From there, love for the kitchen was transmitted from father to son, always with the same intensity.

At Hosteria del Vapore you will find the finest meats and you will be able to taste the best wines, spirits and beers, with new offers every month.

For cigar lovers, the restaurant has designed an area completely dedicated to them, the cigar room, where you can taste the intense scents of cigars in complete relaxation, accompanied by a glass of excellent wine or spirits, selected from the best selections of Whiskey, Rum, Armagnac, Cognac, Brandy and Gin.
