The piedmont area of Val Calepio stretches between the rivers Cherio and Oglio.
This hilly region is dotted with fortresses attesting to the valley’s former control function on the eastern borders of the province.
Val Calepio is famous for its vineyards, from which the highly appreciated Val Calepio DOC is obtained. Besides grapes, the valley also features dozens of hectares planted with olive trees producing an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
