Birrificio Otus

Birrificio Otus

Description

Birrificio Otus began production in 2015, choosing a prominent position by creating beers with a distinct personality, goodness and quality. The brewery continually pursues research on quality by carefully selecting raw materials and in the skilful craftsmanship of traditional techniques, with continuous innovation. With the utmost attention in formulating the recipes, they select the best ingredients and calibrate the different stages of the process with precision. The production is characterised by high fermentation beers, with 7 references, and by the presence of two low fermentation beers, a peculiar production of the brewery.

The name Otus (Asio otus – Common owl – Linnaeus, 1758) is the scientific name of the family of the night owls, which recall the watchful, attentive and wise character of a Master, who directs the elaboration of a perfect strategy and who works with care and patience.

The choice to place the plants in Seriate was made in order to resume the beer brewing tradition in the area, which dates back to the nineteenth century.  Here, the water, given the lightness because it’s poor in salts, is ideal for the production of "liquid bread". The mastery, which the image of the wise owl recalls, is personified in the precise and competent work of the brewer, Alessandro Reali, who graduated from the University of Agraria in Milan, and is currently completing a master's degree in beer technology to refine his competence.
