Landi Fashion

Landi Fashion

Description

Together with the Urban District of Commerce we met Francesca and Federica, owners of Landi Fashion, a historic store in the pulsating heart of Lower Bergamo. This is their story:

There’s pink heart on the window and on the website of this women's enterprise.

Inside Francesca and Federica are waiting for us, the two sisters who – since 1995 – run the women's clothing store in the centre of the city, at the beginning of Via XX September.

They are both beautiful, smiling, enthusiastic about this work and the long history of the shop. Starting from when they were young, still as children, they played with the cash register in the sportswear store that their maternal grandfather opened in 1968.

In 1995 their mother Lella decided to devote herself to women's fashion. “She went around all the fairs and did a lot of research. She was a strong woman!” Francesca comments.

With their mum, they learned the hard work and the predisposition to change, which led them, over the years, to constantly engage in training. "We need to study trends, keep up with the times and sometimes anticipate them," they say. And we must also understand when it is time to change, adapt to the present or guess the future, perhaps focusing more on online sales.

This is why Francesca - the second child - started to teach herself about the internet and create the online store. She manages the site, the Instagram page and the Facebook page, while Federica studies the collections and takes care of the commercial part.

In the shop, Mariella – a patient and talented historical saleswoman – dedicates herself to customers with the total trust of the owners. This way they can then take care of all the hidden work: shopping, marketing, communication, striving to find new ways to courageously continue their venture.

Thanks to this attitude, today they sell their clothes - from the most classic to the most original and fun - throughout Italy and abroad.

In addition, they organise small events at the store for fashion addicts (i.e. for those who just can't do without clothes, bags and shoes). They also offer other experiences such as English lessons, tea with friends or afternoons to try on red carpet dresses, taking photos and dreaming of their Oscar night!

In short, if the fashion world may seem frivolous to some, here above all, is a story of women who know how to reinvent themselves, who challenge themselves and who, with their own strength and a certain stubbornness, arrive everywhere.

"It’s thanks to our mum: already in the shop’s first few years - we were just over fifteen years old - she made us do everything. We participated alone in the fairs and we took care of buying in total autonomy. She trusted us!"

Federica and Francesca always look ahead and already know that in the coming winter women will be more attentive to ethics and ecology. They will choose eco-friendly fabrics, ecological furs and clothes made with soy and recycled plastic bottles.

These are the women of the present time: they dare, they invent, they raise children, they smile seven days a week and often they love sequins.
