TRATTORIA D’AMBROSIO DA GIULIANA

TRATTORIA D’AMBROSIO DA GIULIANA

Description

"La Giuliana" is now an institution in Bergamo and it is because the venue is truly unique.

Opened by her parents in 1943, the restaurant quickly became a meeting place as well as a gastronomic hangout. The restaurant is distinguished by good food, prompt service and Giuliana's ability to welcome every customer with a simplicity and authenticity that makes them feel immediately at home.

At La Giuliana, there are typical Bergamasco dishes but also other Italian cuisine. The wine is served in charming ceramic jugs and in the evening for dinner it is the customers who, after consulting the menu, write down on a piece of paper what they want to eat and deliver it to the waiters. The restaurant is practically always full and this also one of its characteristics. You often find yourself eating next to perfect strangers and, as you know, in Italy this is unusual. But even this is part of that relaxing and friendly atmosphere that is established immediately in the restaurant.

The menu

The dinner menu is a fixed price and varies according to the number of courses. There is a wide choice between first, second and side dishes. The typical casoncelli alla bergamasca are inevitable!

The lunch menu is also a fixed price and you can choose between one or two courses.

Finally, there is a well-stocked dessert menu: homemade and from Bergamo’s patisseries. A must at the end of a meal, right? Try the tiramisu!

THE BILL:

Very cheap: under 30 euros including water and house wine for the dinner menu and under 15 euros for the lunch menu.
