Description

In 1563 the Council of Trent began the reform of the Catholic Church based on a more complete preparation of the clergy to be carried out by the seminaries.
This building, built between 1567- 1573 and enlarged in the 1600s, was the seat of the episcopal seminary for two and a half centuries. Today the seminary is located on the opposite side of Città Alta on the hill of San Giovanni. The Baroque portal dates back to 1689. The inner cloister has a tall portico with an open loggia above.
