The historic center of Treviglio will once again be filled with the aromas of spices, grilled meat, fried foods, and freshly baked goods. On Friday, September 25, the “Street Food Market” will kick off. Now in its tenth year, the event will bring a wealth of cuisines, recipes, and traditions to the city, all to be sampled as you stroll through the streets of downtown.
A well-established event that transforms the heart of Treviglio into a giant outdoor dining table for a weekend. Organized by Promozioni Confesercenti, in collaboration with the municipal government and the Treviglio Commerce District, the event stems from a desire to showcase street food in its most authentic form: simple dishes, often created to be eaten quickly during a workday, which over time have become part of the culinary culture of entire countries.
For two days, Via Matteotti, Piazza Garibaldi, and Via XXV Aprile will be filled with food trucks and aromas from every corner of the world. There will be no shortage of international classics, from hamburgers to pulled pork, from barbecue ribs to Mexican specialties, along with Indian cuisine, Spanish paella, Greek pita, and traditional Chinese steamed ravioli. The culinary journey will also take you through Italy, featuring some of the most recognizable recipes from various regions. There will be arrosticini from Abruzzo, grilled meat from Umbria, Sicilian specialties, Genoese focaccia, and mixed fried seafood—not to mention some local favorites like pane e salamella and Bergamasque casoncelli.
Lombardy will also be represented by pizzoccheri and sciatt from Valtellina. And after the savory dishes, it’s naturally time for the sweet treats. The menu will include chocolate waffles and mini Dutch crêpes, paired with selections from craft breweries. The result will be a culinary journey without the need for a suitcase, where every bite will take you to a different country and tradition in just a few steps.
