Vegâteau is the result of a collaboration between LAV and Funny Veg, with the goal of demonstrating how pastries made without animal-derived ingredients can be innovative and contemporary. The project aligns with current food trends that reflect a growing use of plant-based products in daily diets.
The event features a judging panel composed of pastry chefs, industry experts, and journalists. Prizes include product donations from companies such as The Bridge Bio, Hoplà Idee Veg, and Vandemoelle, as well as a master’s program at the FunnyVeg Academy. The event is supported by various industry associations, including APEI, CONPAIT, FIPGC, CAPAB, and CPA.
The final of the fourth edition will be held on October 18 at the Daste headquarters in Bergamo. The event will feature 10 finalists and the selection of 5 members of the audience to serve on the public jury. Proceeds from the event will go toward the care and rehabilitation of animals rescued by the Provincial Animal Abuse Hotline.
