The story of Cantina Zatti began in the late 1950s with grandfather Gino. After working in wine trading in Val Trompia, he moved to Valtenesi, in Calvagese della Riviera, with the aim of starting his own production.
He purchased the building that now houses the winery, as well as part of the land that is still cultivated today by his son Giovanni and his grandson Andrea.
Originally, the family owned only the western side of the hill known as “Perrone”, but over time they also acquired land on the eastern side. This feature is not only very poetic, as it allows one to observe both the sunrise and the sunset, but also brings different effects during the harvest and different characteristics to the wines produced, even though they come from the same hill.
Today, Andrea and Giovanni Zatti continue to run this activity out of pure passion, while above all preserving the authenticity of a micro-production. Their attention to the process of transforming grapes into wine is of the highest level, and they have also practised certified organic farming since 2018.
