Accompanied by our local tour guide, Michela Del Rosso Laderouge from Bergamo, we’ll recount the complex’s transformations from its origins to the present day from the terrace, revealing the lives and fascinating stories of the monks of the Vallombrosan Order who lived there. We’ll have the opportunity to admire the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, with its fascinating iconographic cycle centered on the lives of the Benedictine and Vallombrosan monks, and the ancient sacristy, characterized by its distinctive “umbrella-style” ribbed vaulted ceiling. We’ll continue by exploring the monumental complex, which includes the cloister along with the halls, the orchard, and the refectory. The refectory houses the important painting *The Last Supper* by Alessandro Allori—a work of extraordinary chromatic intensity—which will provide a fitting conclusion to this journey through faith, history, and great artistic beauty.
