The initiative includes a guided tour focusing on certain areas of the Pontida Monastery that are not usually accessible during standard tours. The tour allows visitors to view the ruins of the Church of Sant’Alberto, dating back to the 11th century, the abbey library, and the few ancient frescoes that still remain.
The program also includes a visit to the exhibition “Ad Monasterum faciendum,” on view only through October 23, which features a Romanesque stone believed to be part of St. Albert’s urn and a reproduction of a chartularium related to the abbey’s founding. The monastery, founded in the Middle Ages, is still home to a community of Benedictine monks.
