From Friday, September 25, through Sunday, October 4, Gandino will host the 19th edition of “I Giorni del Melgotto,” an event dedicated to Gandino’s Spinato corn and local traditions. The program features lunches and dinners, markets, music, activities for children, and events celebrating rural culture. Some side events are also scheduled for September 24 and October 6.
Kicking off the calendar on Thursday, September 24, is the “Monte Farno da vivere – Sapori d’altura” event at the Monte Farno Info Point, followed in the evening by the presentation of the book “Mais Spinato di Gandino – Ricette d’autore.” On Friday, September 25, enjoy aperitifs and dinner at Palazzo Zilioli, followed at 9:00 p.m. by a concert by Black in Seventies in Piazza Santa Croce.
On the weekend of September 26 and 27, the Saturday Market, the Farmers’ Market, the Children’s Market, and the traditional lunches and dinners featuring spined corn will return at the Magda Community’s Zilioli Park. The program will resume on Friday, October 2, with aperitifs and dinner.
Saturday, October 3, will be a particularly eventful day: a market and farmers’ market in the morning, corn husking in the field at 10:00 a.m. in the Cà Parecia area, lunch starting at 12:00 p.m., and, in the afternoon, a local farmers’ market in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. At 4:00 p.m., the traditional corn-on-the-cob peeling event will take place in the square, accompanied by live music, while the day will conclude with aperitifs and dinner.
On Sunday, October 4, after lunch at Zioli Park, the Chestnut Festival will take place at 4:00 p.m. in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, organized by CAI Valgandino. The series of events will conclude on Tuesday, October 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the Val Gandino Local Farmers’ Market in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
