Tarot. Origins, cards, fortune

Feb. 27 to June 2, 2026
The largest and most comprehensive exhibition ever devoted to the world of tarot awaits you at the Carrara Academy

Ready for an extraordinary journey to discover the ultimate arcane game?

A full immersion in the history of the Tarot awaits you at the Carrara Academy, through seven centuries of artwork: illuminated, painted, printed according to very different styles and tastes, from the mysterious symbolism in vogue in Renaissance courts to the visionary power of contemporary art.

It is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition ever devoted to this genre of cards, anciently a real game, since the eighteenth century a tool used for divination of the future.

The absolute star of the exhibition is the legendary Colleoni Deck, the most complete of the existing antique decks: for the first time in over a century, its 74 cards are exceptionally brought together, thanks to the collaboration with the The Morgan Library & Museum New York and a prestigious private collection.

A unique event that brings to life an immersive journey from the fifteenth century to the present day, enriched by international loans of extraordinary value, including the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the National Central Library of Florence.

From the refined papers painted by Bonifacio Bembo to the suggestions of Petrarch’s Triumphs, to twentieth-century and contemporary reinterpretations with artists such as Victor Brauner, Irving Penn, Niki de Saint Phalle e Leonora Carrington, the exhibition chronicles the evolution of a symbol that went from aristocratic game to divinatory tool and powerful cultural icon.

An unmissable appointment to discover the mystery, beauty and timeless fortune of tarot cards.

And you, are you ready to seize this unique opportunity?
