Solza Castle is known as the birthplace of the famous military leader Bartolomeo Colleoni in 1395. The structure is the result of numerous renovations carried out over the centuries: military, noble, and imposing constructions have been overlaid with structures intended for agricultural use. The complex consists of the surrounding walls enclosing the courtyard with its buildings and the remains of a tower. The castle thus holds exceptional historical value, reflecting the very history of the Bergamo region. Guided tours are organized by the Compagnia d’Arme del Carro, which specializes in historical reenactments and “living history” performances, featuring a Colleoni-era infantry unit dressed in mid-15th-century attire. In this way, the Compagnia reenacts the Colleoni garrison that once manned the castle, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the period setting.

The main focus of the tour will be the equipment used by Italian infantry in the mid-15th century.
