Founded in 2012 in San Giovanni Bianco, in the province of Bergamo, Società Agricola Della Fara specialises in cultivating wild herbs and spontaneous plants typical of the Orobie Prealps, with the aim of rediscovering and preserving flavours that have always been part of the local culinary tradition. Plants such as Good King Henry (Paruch), wild garlic, Silene vulgaris, rhubarb and many others are grown without chemical fertilisers before being transformed into original and innovative products.
Over the years, the farm has also experimented with crops that are not traditionally Orobian but have long been part of Italian culinary heritage, including borage, cardoon and the “Alpine Artichoke”—a proprietary name created by the company.
The goal is to present these ancient flavours in a contemporary way through products such as pasta sauces, vegetables preserved in oil, a zero-alcohol digestive bitter made with twelve alpine herbs, preserves designed to pair with cheese, syrups and dried fruit, all produced without preservatives.
Great attention is paid to hygiene, food safety and product traceability to ensure maximum transparency for consumers. Since 2022, all processing has taken place in the company’s own state-of-the-art production facility, equipped with advanced machinery that preserves the raw ingredients’ natural characteristics and properties.
The farm shop is open by telephone appointment only.
