First stop, at number 45: the Church of San Michele al Pozzo Bianco, a Lombard gem that houses, among other things, an important cycle of frescoes depicting Scenes from the Life of Mary, painted in 1525 by the Venetian painter Lorenzo Lotto, who worked in Bergamo for many years. Second stop: the Church of Sant’Andrea, which houses various altarpieces, including the “Madonna Enthroned with Saints” by Moretto, a painter from Brescia who trained under Titian and later developed his own unmistakable style. The tour concludes at Palazzo Moroni, where, after admiring the Courtyard of Neptune and the Grand Staircase, visitors can explore the paintings and works of art housed in the palace’s halls, which are adorned with frescoes by Gian Giacomo Barbelli.
