The Sentierone is getting ready to host the latest edition of “Mercatanti in Fiera,” the festival of traditional European and international products that, for over twenty years, has brought an open-air market dedicated to food and crafts to the heart of Bergamo. The 24th edition will take place from Thursday, October 15, through Sunday, October 18, featuring exhibitors and offerings that allow visitors to experience different cultures and traditions through food and handmade items. The highlight of the event remains its culinary aspect, striking the right balance between street food and traditional crafts. Over four days, the event will bring together hundreds of exhibitors from across Europe and the rest of the world, winding through a path of stalls, aromas, and handcrafted items, all set against a lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Among the culinary specialties not to be missed are famous Belgian chocolates, traditional French cheeses, Tex-Mex cuisine, and Bavarian beers. There will also be plenty of traditional Italian delicacies—and more—such as honey, candies, Breton cookies, and Hungarian cannoli. In addition to the culinary offerings, there will be a selection of artisanal products, with items and craftsmanship that represent another defining feature of the fair. The event thus maintains its connection to the idea of the market as a place for gathering and discovery. Over four days, the Sentierone will be transformed into a space where visitors can explore products, learn about traditions, and stop for a taste, with offerings aimed at a broad audience thanks to free admission and extended hours. The event, organized by Anva Confesercenti in collaboration with Promozioni Confesercenti Bergamo, has become a staple of Bergamo’s fall calendar. In fact, the festival attracts thousands of visitors and tourists every year, offering them an alternative way to experience the city center through culinary traditions and flavors from around the world.
