At the entrance to the “Conca dei Giganti” in one of the most severe and wild places in the entire Orobic arc.
Erected in 1919 as a tribute to CAI members who fell in the recently concluded Great War, the Coca Refuge is located in the municipality of Valbondione, in the Seriara Valley, at 1892 meters above sea level.
It rises at the entrance to the “Conca dei Giganti,” where all the major mountains of the Orobic range, such as Pizzo Coca, Redorta and Porola, soar. It is a starting point for reaching Lake Coca or the Wolf Glacier, the largest Orobic reserve, and a waypoint for those heading to Curò or Brunone.
