Those who pass by this refuge aim to reach the top of the Queen of the Orobes and complete its circumnavigation.
Built on the structure of the old Malga Olone hut, the Rino Olmo hut is located at an elevation of 1819m on the southwest slope of Presolana.
Placed in a grassy basin below the Olone and Pozzera Passes, the Olmo is easily reached from the town of Rusio in 2 1/2 hours of walking. You can also start from the locality Spinelli di Valzurio, and after 3 hours of walking you reach the refuge.
For two-wheel enthusiasts, it is recommended to climb to the refuge starting from Castione della Presolana.
Those who pass through this hut aim to climb to the summit of Presolana or to circumnavigate it: from here they descend to Valzurio, then reach Rifugio Albani to tackle the Passo della Porta ferrata, and on the south side they climb Passo di Pozzera and Passo degli Agnelli before returning to Rifugio Olmo.
The facility has about 20 beds and about 70 at the table.
