The play explores the relationship between cruelty and compassion, depicting a chain of revenge that begins with the sacrifice of Iphigenia and continues through the characters of Clytemnestra and Electra. The production uses props such as sickles, jars, and ox horns, while the soundtrack draws on the folk traditions of the Iranian countryside, including songs by shepherds, fishermen, and farmers, as well as funeral laments.

The composition of the figures and the choreography are inspired by motifs from ancient Greek vases and the works of Caravaggio. The Prometheus Theater is an artistic project founded in Tehran in 2005 by Farzad Amini. The company’s work focuses on the actor and stage composition, influenced by the ideas of Jerzy Grotowski and Eugenio Barba.

The event is part of the TTB Art Weeks, a series that includes exhibitions, workshops, talks, and screenings dedicated to the artistic journey of the Polish master Grotowski.
