The Pianura da Scoprire association, in collaboration with the Municipality, the Aldo Moro Comprehensive School in Calcinate, and the Oglio Nord Park, is organizing a day dedicated to the “Treasures of the Central Lombard Plain.” The initiative is part of a project launched in 2019 that allows the association’s member municipalities to promote the historical and natural features of the region.

Program of the day

The event features guided tours in stages to observe the landscape, flora, and fauna of the Oglio River, while also examining the environmental changes caused by human activity. The tour will conclude at Rilloglio Park with activities that immerse participants in nature.

Historical and Geographical Context

The town of Palosco is located on the border between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, in a strategic location at the confluence of the Oglio River and the Cherio Stream. The historic center developed between the 9th and 12th centuries near an early medieval castle founded by the bishops of Bergamo.

The Oglio Nord Park, established by regional law in 1983, is managed by a consortium of 34 municipalities in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, and Cremona. The area includes seven nature reserves, including Boschetto della Cascata Campagna, Bosco de l’Isola, Bosco della Marisca, Isola Uccellanda, Lanche di Azzanello, and Lanca di Gabbioneta.
