The show is inspired by the twelve nights leading up to Christmas, a time rich in folk tales linked to figures who bring gifts. Through the narration of two female travelers, the show tells the story of the bandit “Spezzaferro” and his horse “Ay Carmela,” along with the figure of Saint Lucy and her little donkey.
The plot also features various characters from a small village, including Catina, Annina, old Fepè, and the wet nurse Marcellina. The action shifts to the shores of a frozen lake, where an encounter with the luminous figure of Lucia will lead to the bandit’s transformation into a generous giver of gifts. The show weaves eight folk songs into a narrative that engages the audience.
