The Treviglio Art and Culture Association presents a modern adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The plot unfolds within a corporate setting run by Ippolita, an unyielding figure dedicated to planning a marriage based on economic interests. Her daughter’s resistance—as she longs to flee into the woods with her lover—sets off a series of events involving a troupe of amateur actors and the magical world of fairies.
Details of the show
The production uses the forest as a space where reality and fantasy meet, where the intrigues of the fairy court intertwine with human conflicts. The show includes a play-within-a-play—namely, the performance of “Pyramus and Thisbe”—which serves as an ironic reflection on the relationship between love and theatrical fiction.
