The event, part of the “Teatro a Merenda” series, features an interactive comedy theater performance that engages the audience, in which everyday objects become the keepers of stories and mysteries.
The event features the Equivochi-tribù creativa theater company, with Beatrice Msrzorati and Dabide Scaccianoce.
A hat, a rose, a handkerchief: every object has a story to tell; every object holds within it a mystery, a story, and a wonder waiting to be discovered.
At the stall of the Magnificent Professor Ieronimus Ferrante, you can find items from all over the world. Drawing on the tradition of street performers and storytellers—who used markets and fairs as stages to bring culture to the people—Ieronimus and his assistant use dramatic performances to introduce patrons to little-known characters and stories.
Like snake charmers, street vendors entertain spectators by eliciting laughter, gasps, and excitement, letting the audience decide which merchandise piques their curiosity the most.
Dramatic stories alternate with comedic skits, famous excerpts from children’s theater, poems, and songs, all brought together by moments of interaction and exchange with the audience, who are also invited to participate in an auction of their own belongings. Curiosity about seemingly ordinary objects opens the doors to the worlds they hold within, thanks to imagination and storytelling.
