The event is part of the “Teatro a Merenda” series. The Teatro Invito theater company presents a play written and directed by Luca Radaelli, starring Giusy Vassena and Matteo Binda.
The play explores the myth of the witch through the character of Giuseppina, a scatterbrained witch who prefers chocolates to children. Her assistant, Giangatto—a musician cat and apprentice wizard—helps her prepare a magic potion to defeat fear. To complete the potion, special ingredients will be needed, such as toad spit, a baboon’s nail, a mouse’s tooth, and a child’s hair—elements that will require the participation of the young audience members.
Through rhyming nursery rhymes, the performers will tell three fairy tales from the witch’s perspective: “Hansel and Gretel,” “Snow White,” and “Baba Yaga,” showing how magic can be beneficial. The show is part of Teatro Invito’s exploration of classic fairy tales, using simple props and rhythmic language to engage the audience.
