The Ottocento event was launched in 1999 with the goal of sharing Fabrizio De André’s body of work and introducing it to different generations. The name of the series is taken from one of the singer-songwriter’s songs, which takes an ironic look at the decline of social values. The tribute takes the audience on a journey through both his most beloved and lesser-known songs, with a particular focus on the original sounds and arrangements—from his studio recordings to the 1979 concerts with PFM, right up to his final tour in 1998 with Cristiano De André. The aim is to restore the balance between poetry and music that characterizes the artist’s work.
