The Aula Picta is one of the main spaces in the Bernareggi Museum, a hall that houses frescoes commemorating the Church of Bergamo and its bishops. Following an architectural restoration project that lasted over two years, the decorations and figures have been restored to their original vibrancy. The event offers a special preview of the room ahead of its official reopening to the public, scheduled for Sunday, September 27. As part of the event, a short film dedicated to the restoration process will be screened at the Tempietto di Santa Croce, illustrating the various stages of the heritage restoration work. The event kicks off “Bernareggi365,” the calendar of initiatives planned for the museum’s first year, which includes exhibitions, conferences, presentations of donations, open houses, and workshops.
Program and how to visit
Guided tours will take place in small groups at the following start times: 8:30 p.m., 8:50 p.m., 9:10 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 9:50 p.m., 10:10 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. The tour includes a visit to the Sala delle Arcate and the Aula Picta at the Bernareggi Museum, as well as admission to the Tempietto di Santa Croce at the Diocesan Curia.
