The village of Cornello dei Tasso, located in the Brembana Valley, is one of the best-preserved examples of a medieval settlement in Lombardy. Traversed by the ancient Via Mercatorum, the village served for centuries as a commercial hub between the plains and the Alps.

The historic center has deep historical ties to the Tasso family, which organized one of the first efficient postal systems in Europe, influencing the emergence of the modern European postal service. The town, listed among Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, retains its medieval layout, characterized by stone arcades and ancient homes.

The tour includes an exploration of the village’s artistic and architectural heritage through the following points of interest:

  • visit to the local church
  • Visit to the Tasso and Postal History Museum
  • A tour through the historic streets to understand the village’s role in European communications
