Wildlife: Field Monitoring

Between September and October, the course “Wildlife: Field Monitoring” will be held. This training program alternates between theoretical sessions and field trips to provide an in-depth look at wildlife census and monitoring techniques in two different natural settings.

The program includes hands-on exercises in identifying animal species and the tracks they leave behind. The initiative also provides for the awarding of CFP credits to AIGAE guides.

Schedule for the First Event

The first weekend will take place on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, at Monte Farno in Gandino, featuring the following activities:

  • Saturday, September 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.: a theoretical introduction followed by a nighttime excursion focused on the bellowing of deer and nocturnal birds of prey
  • Sunday, September 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: field trip focused on simulating a bird census, with a special focus on passerines and birds of prey

The second weekend is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, at the LIPU Nature Reserve in Cesano Maderno (MB).
