The event is part of the Abboccaperta festival, a theater and cultural project organized by Teatro Caverna in collaboration with the City of Bergamo and Bergamo per i Giovani, with support from the Province of Bergamo, the ASM Foundation, and the Bergamo Community Foundation. The performance celebrates milestones related to Jack London, specifically the 150th anniversary of his birth and the 110th anniversary of his death.
The Performance
The show, directed by Davide Sapienza and Francesco Garito, takes the audience on a narrative and musical journey that weaves together the world literature classics *The Call of the Wild* and *White Fang*. Through a montage of textual excerpts and original music, the performance explores the bond between the two protagonists, Buck and White Fang, and the theme of a return to the wild.
Davide Sapienza, a writer and scholar specializing in publishing projects dedicated to London, has woven his own travel experiences in Canada’s Far North—in regions such as the Yukon and Nunavut—into the narrative. The work is accompanied by compositions by Francesco Garolfi, whose sound design draws on cinematic techniques.
