The event features the presentation of the book *Let’s Thaw Our Minds, Not the Glaciers. Why Our Minds Are the Biggest Obstacle in the Fight Against Climate Change,” by Matteo Motterlini, which analyzes the cognitive dynamics and psychological mechanisms that hinder the collective response to the climate crisis.
The topic of the meeting
The analysis focuses on the concept of “limbic capitalism”—an economic system based on the pursuit of immediate gratification and the production of dopamine—which conflicts with the need for a long-term vision. The author examines how cognitive biases and preconceptions influence public consensus on global warming, proposing strategies to transform inaction into concrete steps toward achieving balance with the planet.
