It’s not just a trend; it’s a cultural shift that spans design, home living, and the very way we consume. In recent years, the world of vintage, modern antiques, and high-quality secondhand goods has become increasingly central to the choices of those seeking authentic objects—ones that tell a story, stand the test of time, and defy the logic of mass production. Against this backdrop, SUPER DUPER MARKET was born—a new event dedicated to vintage design, modern classics, collecting, and independent curation—to be held in Alzano Lombardo (BG) at Spazio Fase on October 10 and 11, 2026. The project was conceived by Laura Poli and Giulia Menalli, co-founders of Particolare Studio—a creative studio based in Bergamo but with active collaborations throughout Italy—specializing in branding and communication, with the goal of creating an event that brings together design culture, creativity, and community. SUPER DUPER MARKET stems from the desire to create a meeting place in Bergamo for an ever-growing community of enthusiasts, collectors, creative professionals, and the simply curious, offering an experience that goes beyond the traditional concept of a market.
The event will feature selected exhibitors from all over Italy and will be dedicated to vintage and modern design: furniture, home decor, posters and signs, lamps, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind pieces. This event taps into a phenomenon that is constantly growing. According to the latest data from the Second Hand Economy Observatory, over 65% of Italians buy or sell used items, and the sector’s economic value has now exceeded 27 billion euros, confirming that the second-hand market has become an increasingly widespread and cross-sectional choice. Driving this evolution are not only economic factors but also—and above all—a growing focus on sustainability, quality, uniqueness, and mindful consumption. At the same time, vintage design and modern antiques are experiencing a resurgence of interest. Interior designers, creatives, and younger generations are increasingly rediscovering furniture and objects from the past for their ability to give identity to contemporary spaces—in stark contrast to the uniformity of environments created using mass-produced items.
The first edition will be hosted by Spazio Fase, a landmark of Bergamo’s urban regeneration. Located on the site of the former Cartiera Pigna paper mill in Alzano Lombardo—a historic industrial complex that shaped the region’s economic and industrial life for decades—it now stands as a shining example of restoration and transformation. In fact, the former factory has been returned to the community as a space dedicated to culture, creativity, events, and innovation. This setting perfectly reflects the identity of SUPER DUPER MARKET, built around the concepts of restoration, revitalization, and new life, where the past continues to engage with the present through objects, stories, and people. Alongside the exhibition area, there will be select food trucks, relaxation zones, music, and opportunities for socializing—all designed to make the market an experience to be enjoyed throughout the entire day. The goal is to gradually establish this event as a key industry gathering, capable of attracting visitors, exhibitors, and professionals from all over Italy and contributing to the growth of a community that sees vintage and design not merely as aesthetics, but as a different way of viewing objects and their value.
