Bergamo’s Sala Piatti will host a concert dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi’s masterpiece. The event, organized by the agency Opera e Lirica srl, promises a powerful and moving musical experience in one of Bergamo’s most prestigious cultural venues.

An exclusive performance featuring violin soloist and conductor Elvin Dhimitri, accompanied by a string quartet and harpsichord. As concertmaster of the Opera e Lirica orchestra, Elvin Dhimitri boasts a well-established international career with prestigious orchestras, including the Filarmonica Toscanini of Parma and the Nuova Scarlatti of Naples. He was formerly concertmaster of the Rome Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of the Rome and Lazio Symphony Orchestra. A leading interpreter of the Baroque repertoire, he has achieved extraordinary success with audiences across Europe thanks to his acclaimed performance of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” praised for its communicative power and impeccable technique. He has played to sold-out audiences at venues such as the Ateneo de Madrid, Casa Schuster in Milan, the Teatro Niccolini in Florence, the Complesso Monumentale Donnaregina in Naples, the Sala dei Giganti in Padua, and many others.

The choice of the Sala Piatti—a true Art Nouveau gem dating back to 1903 and famous for its acoustics—reflects our desire to offer a unique listening experience in the heart of Bergamo: the venue was chosen to best highlight the evocative power, sonic dynamics, and emotional nuances typical of the Baroque repertoire, offering a direct and profound encounter with the music in an exceptional setting.

Although the theme of the seasons was common in the Baroque period, Antonio Vivaldi revolutionized it with an unprecedented capacity for vivid imagery and emotional expression. The work reflects the dramatic vision of the relationship between humanity and nature typical of the 17th century: influenced by Galileo’s discoveries, the Baroque man observed the cosmos with a mixture of wonder and awe. Vivaldi dramatizes nature through free-flowing melodies, harmonic contrasts, and a driving rhythm, drawing the listener into a vivid narrative: from the songs of spring to summer thunderstorms, all the way to the harshness of winter.
