Casa Virginia was founded in 2002, when Antonio Lecchi, the winery’s current director, decided to restore an old vineyard set within the renowned Parco dei Colli Bergamaschi. Great passion and extensive knowledge of winemaking are the foundations on which this 18th-century vineyard is cultivated, in one of the Bergamo area’s finest wine-growing zones. Casa Virginia enhances the value of native grape varieties, such as Manzoni Bianco 6013, while also pursuing innovation: on its own land, characterised by Marna di Bruntino soils, the Shiraz grape variety has been introduced on an experimental basis.
