A guided tour between the Sanctuary of St. Patrick in Colzate and the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity in Casnigo to explore the fresco cycles and the artistic history of the Seriana Valley.

The proposed itinerary focuses on exploring two sites of historical and artistic significance located in the Seriana Valley: the Sanctuary of San Patitti in Colzate and the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity in Casnigo.

The first stop is a visit to the Sanctuary of St. Patrick, a building dedicated to the patron saint of Ireland. This devotion can be traced back to the trade between merchants from Bergamo and the rest of Europe during the Middle Ages. The sanctuary, situated on a rocky outcrop, originated as a 12th-century oratory and features fresco cycles depicting the life of the saint.

The route then continues toward the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity in Casnigo, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Bergamo region.” The nickname derives from the depiction of the Last Judgment created by the Baschenis family of the Brembana Valley. The work also includes other decorations created by the Baschenis and the Marinoni families of Albino.
