A tasting that offers a complete overview of winemaking at the Castle of Grumello del Monte.
The Castle of Grumello del Monte is a residence of medieval origin, located at the heart of a wine estate in the Valcalepio hills, between Bergamo and Lake Iseo.
From fortress to noble residence and finally a wine-producing estate, the Castle has over a thousand years of history.
It is a valuable historic site that opens its doors daily for guided tours and tastings of its own wines.
The wines:
The Castles wine range covers the full spectrum of grape varieties grown in the Bergamo area. The reds, in particular, are based on the classic Bordeaux blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot produced as Valcalepio Rosso DOC.
Across the estates 15 hectares, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio are also grown, forming the classic blend of Valcalepio Bianco DOC.
A focus on sustainability and modern viticultural practices has also led to the creation of a wine called “Le Noci,” made from resistant PIWI grape varieties, mainly Bronner and Johanniter. Over the years, the estate has also preserved a nearly lost native grape, Merera, which tells another story of Bergamos winemaking heritage.

To fully understand the wines produced by the estate, dont miss this guided tasting of 5 wines, which showcase the estates handcrafted approach and the spirit of the Castle of Grumello del Monte. The experience begins with a visit to the historic cellars, continues with an explanation of the surrounding vineyards, and concludes with a tour of the Castles interiors.

Tours take place from Monday to Friday, at 10:30 AM or 2:30 PM.
Tours require a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 15.

The experience is intended for participants aged 18 and over.
You can purchase a platter of Bergamasco salami and Bergamasco cheeses on-site to pair with your wine tasting.
