The hostel is located in the district of Colognola (north of the city ring road) and belongs to San Sisto in Agris complex.
The complex was originally made up by a church, a rectory and rural buildings gathered around the courtyard beside the church.
The rectory and the rural buildings were turned into a hostel thanks to a 4-year refurbishment launched in 2008 by the Parish of Colognola (owner of the complex) and sponsored by Region Lombardia according to the regional Youth Hostels Development Program.
The main aim of the refurbishment was to restore the complex to its original conditions, creating the new municipal park “Colognola dei Colli”, a large green area turned into a vegetable and fruit garden to recreate the region enviromental conditions .
San Sisto has kept the original structure of the complex, made by 3 different parts (ground floor, first floor and lower ground floor) with traditional details such as wooden-beam ceiling and a stone fireplace in the living room.
Reception is located on the ground floor , as well as the common areas and 6 bedrooms obtained from the old staples that overlook the inner courtyard.
A peculiar Zandobbio marble door that originally lead to the church can be admired by guests on the ground floor.
6 bedrooms obtained from an old barn and a double bedroom equipped with independent kitchen and living room are located on the first floor.
