The libretto, based on a text by Metastasio and adapted by a local author, accompanies a score composed by a provincial musician. The narrative unfolds through the contrasts between the singers\u2014who are driven by great ambition\u2014and the managerial challenges arising from the demands of the composer and poet, all while facing interference from family members and audience members.  <\/p>\n<h3>Historical Notes<\/h3>\n<p>Donizetti composed this farce in 1827 for Naples, structuring it as a one-act work with spoken dialogue and the inclusion of dialectal elements.
