Lombardy\u2019s leading centers for the preservation of art. Founded in the early 19th century by Count Luigi Tadini, a patron of the arts and collector, the institution houses a significant collection of works that reflect the culture of that period. <\/p>\n<p>The tour inside the neoclassical palace allows visitors to admire the decorations in the halls and the Art Gallery, which houses several notable works. Among the most significant pieces are the Stele Tadini by Antonio Canova, a neoclassical sculpture created in memory of Faustino Tadini, and the works of Francesco Hayez, including *Ecce Homo* and *Self-Portrait in Maturity*, donated to the artist\u2019s granddaughter, who lives in Lovere. <\/p>\n<p>The institution is considered the first 19th-century museum in Lombardy after the Pinacoteca di Brera. The collection also documents the Risorgimento period as it relates to Lovere and Bergamo, featuring paintings and memorabilia associated with Garibaldi.
