On the main floor, we find the library and a large hall with smaller rooms attached. The rooms are all decorated with 18th-century frescoes with mythological and allegorical themes, enriched partly with family furniture and partly with objects acquired over time. An English garden welcomes the visitor, while a large green space opens to the rear. It retains its Italianate layout, with spaces punctuated by box hedges, and today is used by the family as a vegetable garden and orchard. The Pagnoncelli family moved there shortly after the mid-19th century from the hamlet of C\u00e0 Passero, in Berbenno, Imagna Valley. Family with a tradition of pharmacists that Maurizio Pagnoncelli Folcieri still practices in Scanzorosciate. Giancarlo Pagnoncelli Folcieri, in 1962, produced his first Moscato di Scanzo, a unique meditation red raisin wine from a native, aromatic, botrytized vine whose history is documented from the mid-1400s. Since 2009 it has been Italy&#8217;s smallest DOCG, to date the only one in Lombardy.
