To write “Kamikaze,” Eleazaro Rossi made a spiritual and rail journey to Cividale del Friuli. There, a guest at the Albergo Cividale (3-star, half-board), he spent a few weeks looking into the void, listening to the silence, and trying to figure out if the problem was him or the world. In the end, as is often the case, the answer was: both. <\/p>\n
“Kamikaze” is his 11th comic monologue. One word is not enough. Two not even. It is a show that cannot be summarized that does not want to be explained, in fact it eschews all attempts at promotion except this one. <\/p>\n
During the performance we talk about, among other things, life, death and the world.<\/p>\n
Journalists ravaging convention buffets as if they were veterans of 30 years of fasting and as if canap\u00e9s were humanity’s last chance for salvation. The same journalists who ask questions of comedians as if they had never spoken to a human being before (“But were you a bit of a brat in school?”). <\/p>\n
Guilt, broken families, the inescapable trap of capitalism, and the secret wish that a heart attack could end it all. Grandparents volunteer in front of schools. And, of course, also things that cannot be said here because the theater still has a reputation to uphold. <\/p>\n
