Madonna dei Campi Sanctuary is located around Stezzano, 5km far away from Bergamo.
According to the tradition there was a little chapel with an image of the Madonna to which the peasants were much devoted. One day, eight centuries ago, a woman saw there a massive light and the Madonna with the Child appeared.
A little church was built where in May 1586 water began gushing out from a pilaster frescoed with the Madonna; on the following 12th July the Madonna appeared to two little girls from Stezzano.
