BFM39 - Bergamo Film Meeting

Description

Like every year, the Bergamo Film Meeting returns, an unmissable event for all lovers of art house cinema!

The Bergamo Film Meeting, one of the most anticipated cultural events in the city, reaches its 39th edition this year.

The Festival will take place from 24thApril to 2ndMay in a new form. The projections of 150 national and international films can be enjoyed both in cinemas and online, from the comfort of home.

There will also be workshops, masterclasses, retrospectives, previews, meetings with the writers, a time dedicated to comics, music and art with exhibitions and installations.

The retrospective of this edition is dedicated to the German director, screenwriter, producer and actor Volker Schlöndorff. A journey of 22 films to outline the evolution of his filmography, which has always been characterised by the transposition of literary works and socio-political commitment.

The director has long been linked to Bergamo because he shot some scenes of the 1972 film ‘A Free Woman’ in the Upper Town.

Like every year, the Bergamo Film Meeting will also give space to current trends and emerging writers in the field of fiction and documentaries, through the "Show competition" and "Closer views" sections.

The complete program of the 39th edition will be announced in mid-April.
