IL DONO. SULLA VITA E LA MORTE – THE GIFT. ON LIFE AND DEATH

Description

"The gift. On life and death”, organised by The Blank Contemporary Art and the Municipality of Bergamo as one of the events of the tenth edition of ArtDate, Festival of Contemporary Art, opens its doors to the public.

The exhibition, housed in the Sala delle Capriate of Palazzo della Ragione and inaugurated in November, is ready to welcome visitors and enthusiasts.

In our society that seems marked by individualism and selfishness, is there still room for giving and the art of giving? The historical works and new productions of seven international artists seek to answer this question: Matilde Cassani, Alberto Garutti, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Andrea Mastrovito, Jonathan Monk, Andrea Romano and Namsal Siedlecki.

An exhibition conceived as a gift, many of the works are conceived as real gifts that the viewer can appropriate, and also an invitation to participate actively in the life of their community. Through the involvement of seven voluntary associations, the visitor is given the concrete possibility of donating time to others.
