In Valpredina, near Cenate Sopra, there is a beautiful protected area that, with its 90 hectares, touches both the southern slope of Mount Misma (Mountain Community of the Bergamasco Lakes) and the Seriana Valley. It is an oasis that can be experienced in many ways: for a naturalistic visit, for an excursion or even just for a pleasant day surrounded by nature.
You will find a Visitor Centre, a guesthouse and an easy ring-route equipped with information panels waiting for you. The highlights of the route - particularly suitable for families and school groups - are the educational ponds, the butterfly garden, the composting area, the organic vegetable garden, the officinal plants and the wildlife area. The oasis is also a Wild Animal Recovery Centre that treats wounded wildlife and shelters animals that are no longer able to live in the wild.
And if you want to combine a pleasant trekking excursion with a tour, from the centre you can reach the observatory at Cà Pessina (530masl), Cà Muratori (750masl) and finally the summit of Mount Misma, from which you will enjoy a breath-taking view of the Orobie, over the Po Valley to the Apennines.
Access to the route for audio guide tours is allowed only by reservation on 035 956140.
Entrance fee with audio guide: €10 adults, €8 children. Discounts for WWF members.
Average journey time: 1 hour and a half.
The tours are available every day. Picnic tables are also available by reservation in the special food area (€4 per table).

The institution of the protected area was made possible by the donation of the Bardoneschi, who in 1983 left the entire property to WWF Italy. Since 1985 it has been recognised as a Regional Nature Reserve of forest and landscape interest. Since 2008 it has been part of the European ecological network "Natura 2000" as a Site of Community Importance.
