ANTONIO ROVALDI – The Sound of the Woodpecker Bill

ANTONIO ROVALDI – The Sound of the Woodpecker Bill

Description

Antonio Rovaldi brings the project End. Words from the Margins, New York City to Bergamo with an exhibition entitled The Sound of the Woodpecker Bill which will open in the spaces of the Accademia Carrara.

The exhibition represents the second chapter of the project promoted by GAMeC "End. Words from the Margins, New York City" and is curated by Lorenzo Giusti, director of GAMeC; Steven Handel, professor of Ecology at Harvard and by Francesca Benedetto, design critic.

The exhibition itinerary presents New York seen from its suburbs, from its 5 boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. We see the green, the debris, the junctions and the unkept areas: a series of images that present an unprecedented New York.

On display, there will be 50 black and white photographs, geographic maps, bronze sculptures and a sound installation that replicates a long walk, a constant flow of voices and sounds, an image of an elastic geography.

We will also find a video The Rest of the Images, documentation of the artist's experience and the relationship between walking, photography and the construction of a sequence.

In addition to the exhibition there will be workshops, excursions, explorations, meetings and conferences involving artists, architects, urban planners, philosophers and writers.

Opening hours:

Every day: 9:30am - 6:00pm

Closed on Tuesday
