The B&B is located in Oltre il Colle, in the upper Serina Valley at an altitude of 1000m. It is in a beautiful valley from which you can enjoy an enchanting view of the surrounding mountains that form the backdrop. Perfect location for weekends or relaxing and sports-based holidays, in the context of the wonderful Bergamasco Alps.
"Sotto l'Alben" is built inside a characteristic villa of the early 1900s, with typical Alpine architecture. It is surrounded by a large garden, which guarantees tranquillity, even though it is in the centre of the village. Expertly furnished in a contemporary Alpine style, the B&B transmits to its guests a unique sense of harmony and well-being that only the warmth of wood can give.
There are 3 rooms, all equipped with a TV, WIFI internet connection and a large private bathroom with a courtesy set, linen and a hairdryer. These offer a double bed or alternatively 2 single beds, and a sofa bed that can accommodate one or two people.
Ideal starting point for hiking tours of varying difficulty. In fact, there are innumerable itineraries offered by the Oltre il Colle Basin: from peaceful walks starting from the town to more demanding excursions that allow you to reach the highest peaks at 2500m.
Certainly noteworthy are the Tree Cathedral and the Path of Flowers on Mount Arera; the Nordic ski trail that winds for 13km on the slopes of Mount Alben, easily reachable from the Zambla Pass or from Oltre il Colle. It is also possible to practice alpine skiing on 2 small ski runs, ideal for those who want to have a try at this sport.
Staying in the Serina Valley you can visit Serina’s historic centre, the birthplace of Palma il Vecchio, a Renaissance painter. Examples of his fine art remain in the Parish Church.
Moving instead to the territory of Dossena, only 6km away, it is possible to discover the underground treasure of the mines, historical and cultural heritage as well as geological.
