Alpine Museum in Colere

Alpine Museum in Colere

Description

There is nothing more engaging and humanly effective than reviving people through the continuous search for everything that belonged to them with the precise aim of showing them and transferring their history over time.

This is what has been done by the great alpine core of Colere which, on April 25th, 2015, officially inaugurated its Museum (housed in the group headquarters) and a stele dedicated to the memory of the fallen during all the wars.

All at the conclusion of a long, incessant and patient research that involved the entire population who, urged in this sense, has made available perhaps that which was most dear to them…

Letters, memories, images and photographs, documents, weapons and ammunition, radio transmitters, military uniforms, typical clothing of the alpine body and objects usually used by those on the front line have found a home in the halls of the Museum that boasts the valuable merit of having inserted these objects in appropriate reconstructions: two examples are the reconstruction of a trench and of the field infirmary.

Each piece exhibited at the Alpine Museum is accompanied by a detailed explanation that makes it comprehensible, especially its use, to visitors and neatly organised in thematic sections.

Even though the collection so far appears to be remarkable, for the variety and number of "findings", the Alpine group of Colere is still looking for anything that could be included in the exhibition in the future.

The collection of what could still be kept in drawers and attics continues... Alpine hats, medals, documents also of discharge, military accessories or certificates of merit.

All the material can be given or only loaned to the Museum, that will take the upmost care of it!!
