In Predore, on Lake Iseo, 5km from Sarnico and 35 from Bergamo, you can visit the thermal baths of Villa dei Noni, an ancient Roman villa.
The building, disposed on a surface of about 15,000 square metres, extended in a north-south direction from the foot of the mountain up to the shore of the lake, and the villa, inhabited from I BC to IV AD by the family of the consul and senator Marco Nonio Arrio Muciano, it is known for its thermal baths (built between the second and third centuries).
Today you can visit the bath area and, after the illustrative panels, an antiquarium has been created that allows you to overlook the remains and follow the path that traces the developments of the thermal baths.
Noteworthy among the artifacts exhibited in the antiquarium is a brick with a face covered by various graffiti, representing alphabetic letters, numbers and signs not well interpreted, including an inscription referring to a composition in which the god Neptune is cited, associated with the presence of rivers and lakes.
