CENTRALE

CENTRALE

Description

The Centrale restaurant is located in Gandino, a beautiful village full of culture and traditions in the Seriana Valley. Located 25km from the centre of Bergamo and 30km from Orio al Serio - Bergamo airport, it is housed in a building from the early 1800s, right in the town’s main square. Within walking distance is the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and the Basilica Museum.

Centrale restaurant’s particularity, however, does not concern its location, albeit of great value, but its menu. Here, in fact, the most popular and tasty dishes revolve around Gandino’s Barbed Corn, among the oldest corn in Italy, cultivated in Gandino since 1632.

For this reason, Emanuel, owner of the restaurant, in addition to offering typical Bergamasco dishes, offers dishes that he has invented using this special ingredient. Thus the "Spinata" was born, a crunchy and light pizza thanks to the Barbed Corn based dough; shortbread with Barbed Corn served with red Valcalepio wine zabaglione, gnocchi with Barbed Corn polenta and, again, Scarlatta beer (with a base of Barbed Corn and South American herbs) and Melgotto ice cream.

Many dishes with a common denominator: to offer to the visitor dishes that are truly km 0 full of all the traditional flavours.
